About Andrea Moorer, LCSW-S, LCDC
With over 27 years of experience, I have maintained a private practice serving executives, licensed professionals and high visibility clients. I provide interventions for complex mental health disorders including substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, thought and delusional disorders, and personality disorders. I also work extensively with high-conflict families, and young adults who have withdrawn from college due to mental health or substance abuse issues.
Previously, I worked at the Menninger Clinic in Houston, one of the top psychiatric hospitals in the United States, and at Memorial Hermann's Psychiatric Response Team, conducting psychiatric evaluations. I hold Master’s degrees from Florida Gulf Coast University and the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. I am currently finalizing my Ph.D. in Clinical Social Work at the Institute for Clinical Social Work in Chicago, where my studies focus on psychodynamic practices and their application in modern clinical care.
Licensed to practice in Texas, Florida, Arizona, Illinois, California, and Colorado, I am trained in both ARISE® and Love First® intervention models. I bring together these structured approaches with deep clinical insight gained from extensive experience. Drawing from my background, I tailor each intervention to the unique needs and dynamics of those involved—navigating complex family systems, addressing resistance with empathy, and supporting lasting, meaningful change.
In addition, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW-S), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and Certified Mediator. In 2023, I completed a fellowship at the Integrative Psychiatry Institute, specializing in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP). To date, I have facilitated over 200 KAP sessions, integrating this innovative approach with psychodynamic therapy.
